At the office of Dr. Kelly Davidoff we offer a multitude of specialty services.
Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry
Restorative Dentistry is the study, diagnosis and integrated management of diseases of the teeth and their supporting structures and the rehabilitation of the dentition to functional and aesthetic requirements of the individual. Cosmetic dentistry, is comprehensive oral care that combines art and science to optimally improve dental health, aesthetics and function.
Crowns & Bridgework
Crown refers to the anatomical area of teeth, usually covered by enamel
. The crown is usually visible in the mouth after developing below the gingiva
and then erupting
into place. A bridge, also known as a fixed partial denture, is a dental restoration used to replace a missing tooth by joining permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants.
Ceramic Crowns & Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of restorative material placed over a tooth surface, either to improve the aesthetics
of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer, composite and porcelain.
Oral Surgery incl. Wisdom Teeth
Oral surgery is the specialty of dentistry that includes the diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injuries and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, teeth, and gums.
Root Canal Surgery
A root canal is the space within the root of a tooth. It is part of a naturally occurring space within a tooth that consists of the pulp chamber (within the coronal part of the tooth), the main canal(s), and more intricate anatomical branches that may connect the root canals to each other or to the surface of the root.
Periodontal Care/Hygiene Dept
Periodontics is the branch of dentistry which studies supporting structures of teeth, and diseases and conditions that affect them.
White Fillings, Bleaching
As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker due to changes in the mineral structure
of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. Certain antibiotic medications (like tetracycline
) can also lead to teeth stains or a reduction in the brilliance of the enamel.
Dentistry for Children
We focus intimately on pediatric/adolescent growth and development, disease causality and prevention, child psychology and management, and all aspects of the highly-specialized Pediatric restorative techniques and modalities.
Inhalation sedation, AKA laughing gas, with nitrous oxide (N2O) and oxygen (O2) has been described as “representing the most nearly ‘ideal’ clinical sedative circumstance” Nitrous oxide (N2O) is simply a gas which you can breathe in. It has no color, smell, and doesn’t irritate. Inhalation sedation is very safe. It has very few side effects and the drugs used have no ill effects on the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or brain.
